Tis the Season

I am prepping for the season.... I have mailed gifts so that I can continue to be a half way decent TT to my niece and nephew.  I have attempted to hang Christmas decor in my house.  I will tell you that I failed because my wreath decided that it did not want to stay on the door so it is now decorating my Kitchen Counter.  I did not put up my pre-lit tree because no one was going to see it but me and since I will be heading into the South here soon- there was no point.  Be that as it may, I am still very much looking forward to HOME!

No too much going on with me!  I have been staying pretty busy here at the J_O_B.  Very busy in fact.  I have received 2 birthday presents from my favorite student worker and Admin Assistants.  I have mentioned my student worker a few times so I will give her a name- Minnie!  I actually call her Minnie to her face.  She is the sweetest girl around and if I could clone her and keep her by my side 24-7 I would.  The girl is fantastic.  She brought me a box of Chocolate Truffles as an early Bday gift.  Her Bday is on Sunday- I should have been giving her a gift!  I also received a festive card from my friend Dale!  Thanks Dale!!!

That is it from me....
Until later

Senioritis

I feel like I have a terrible case of Senioritis but I am not a senior in school or even a student.  I am TIRED- Not physically.  Mentally drained is more like it.  I am officially counting down the days until I am home (a clue to those who have asked- 10 days or less).  I do not feel like being at the J-O-B because I would rather be spending time with my loved ones.  That does not mean that I hate my job- I am super Thankful to be employed.  But when I say that I need a Mental VACAY- believe me!  Also, if you live in my home state and have not made plans to get on my calendar, please do so now.  My time is quickly becoming other peoples time to spend with me.  I received a phone call last night from my Tootsie TELLING me not ASKING me to bake holiday cookies.  Do I have time to bake cookies?  NOT Really! Will I? Probably!  Will my Tootsie treat me to a slice of pizza or Chinese Buffet?  I sure do hope so!  HINT!!!!

I started Christmas shopping the other day.  Online to be more specific.  I need to do a little shopping for my niece and nephew so I can get their gifts in the mail by Monday.  If not I could win the WORST TT ever award!  And that is not an option!

I also went to the movies, I seem to go a lot these days, and saw Love and Other drugs with my friend.  The movie was pretty good!  Not exactly what I was expecting.  A great Red box rental!  Earlier that day, I had watched The day after tomorrow and the Princess Bride!  A nice introduction to the acting skills of Jake Gyllenhall and Anne Hathaway.  A little bit of nudity but nice comedy!

That is it for me!  I am going to try to shake this Senioritis (I doubt that will happen).  Have a great weekend!!!

Getting Ready and Acting Out

I did so well last week- I blogged 5 times!  And then I had to take a small break!  So let's play catch up!

My sweet iNdee (my iPhone) had been having a few problems.  The volume button fell off for some reason.  I took him to the Apple Store where they told me they would give me a new phone (a surprise to me since my warranty was out of date).  My case for iNdee also broke (second time for that type of case) but they replaced it for free since it was under warranty!  So basically I am rocking a new phone that looks just like my old phone!  Yay!  When I took my phone to the Apple store the man told me that I would be putting my phone in a box and called it the phone coffin!  So sad!!!

I am counting down the days until I am back in the south for Christmas.  Only a few people know the exact date but I am getting a kick out of family members guessing!  SOON!  That is all that I can tell you.  Not tomorrow- I have to work.  Next week kicks of finals here at the J-O-B and I am busy with programs but SOON!

I have not been feeling like myself lately.  On Sunday, I was definitely channeling my Grammy.  I stayed in the house all day and cleaned!  I am trying to get my house in order (which is difficult since I am usually busy or not motivated to get the job done).  I took the time to set up the ironing board and iron for quite a while!  One thing that My Grammy is notorious for is ironed clothes.  She does not believe that you should leave the house looking "rough dried" in other words having taken your clothes out of the dryer.  She does not like wrinkles and will tell you to take something off and iron it.  When I was growing up she ironed EVERYTHING!  Even the Sheets on the bed!  So that is what I did on Sunday.  I ironed the sheets and put them on my bed!  I must really be missing that woman if I ironed my sheets!  I also cooked dinner.  I baked chicken, made some purple hull peas, cabbage, corn bread and baked sweet potatoes.

The snow is finally melting.  I am hoping to not see anymore until 2011!  I can not believe 2010 is almost over!  I am going to claim 2011 as a FANTASTIC year.  I am going to think some great positive thoughts and start praying that 2011 is just the BEST!!!!  Oh well- I have got to go but I will be back again soon!

Up all Night

My last full day in Phoenix was on Black Friday.  I did quite a bit of shopping that day starting at 3:45AM.  My aunt and I met up with her good friend Tonya and her daughter, Courtney.  We began at Target, went to Wally World and ended at the mall. I hit up New York and Co because they were having a 60% off sale which was something that I could not pass up.  I had tons of fun with my aunt.  She dropped me off at their house and went to work.  I happily went back to bed and got a few more hours of rest.  By the time that she got off we went back out to the mall and shopped until 7 that evening.  I was WORE out!  My feet hurt and just wanted to rest.  I also bought myself a cute Birthday/Christmas gift that I am not using until the actual days arrive.  And I decided to leave you with 2 more pictures!!!  one of my cousin who did not want to show his face (which is fine since I don't know if he would appreciate being on the blog).
And the last picture is the plane that is hanging on the ceiling at the PHX airport!  I always think that it is cool!  When I arrived back in the North it was snowing and snow was still on the ground!  I never EVER get back to town on time but I do always get back safely so no COMPLAINTS! A big thank you to my friend who picked me up from the airport!   Please enjoy your weekend and be safe.  I am hoping to make it out to the mall this weekend to take iNdee to a Doctors appointment and rest since I have to work next weekend!  AHH!!!

PHX

Back in the office today!  It was nice to have HUMP Day off, but the semester ends in 2 weeks so we are down to the wire!  The snow is still on the ground... It is deep and very wet today.  I was happy to be wearing my boots today.

So where did I leave you?  Oh YES!  So on Thanksgiving Morning- My Uncle and I headed off to Church!  My Grammy has always been a big "You have a lot to be Thankful for- so Go to Church on Thanksgiving" kind of person.  I had a nice time at church with my Uncle and the man who usually sits next to him was perplexed that this woman was sitting next to my uncle.  After church, my uncle introduced me to Dexter and said that I was his niece who was visiting for the holiday.  Dexter replied by saying "Good.  Because I would hate for you to have some woman in the seat that your wife usually sits in.  This puts me in a bad position!"  Ha I love it!  That is the typical response when strangers see me with my older big headed loving brother!  It has to be because we look NOTHING alike~

After church, we headed back to the house and had a great breakfast.  If you have never had Bubbling Bread- Find it and eat it!  I love it and haven't had it in years.  My Grammy stopped making that a long time ago.  I will try to find the recipe and post that soon!  We had a scrumptious dinner!  My Aunt did a fantastic job!  It was so nice to spend the holiday with family!  People who really know you and have seen you grow up.  My cousins pestered me the WHOLE time that I was there.  Is it because they don't have a sister and was their adopted sister for a few days?  POSSIBLY!

After dinner (and a rest)- We did my favorite holiday past time!  FAMILY GAMES!  I am a nerd.  I play Words with Friends on my iPhone daily!  I love to read and I am decent with word games.  My Aunt and Cousins told me that no one beats my uncle but low and behold I came in and whooped up on him pretty good.  We played Boggle which is a game that my family plays when together.

I have to run but I will finish my last day in Phoenix talking about Black Friday and some of my purchases... I just checked my bank statement today and I am still hurting from the damage!

Just getting by

Be proud of me! I am blogging from my phone! Don't know if I like it yet but I will try! This will be a short post... It has been snowing for a day or so and the J-O-B was closed today due to the snow! I will try to take some pictures & post! I hope that you are having better weather than me...

To get to the Gobble

This year I decided to spend Thanksgiving in Arizona with my mom's youngest brother, his wife and my two cousins.  Because they live in Phoenix, they do not get too many visitors from the family so they said they were happy to have me (and I honestly think that they were!).  I could have gone back to to the south for the Thanksgiving but it was 1) quicker for me to fly to PHX over home and 2)CHEAPER!

So my Journey started on Wednesday... I jumped a flight to Salt Lake City!  When I landed I looked out the window and was greeted by this
I am wondering when I will get use to large amounts of snow.  Snow means bad roads, slow drivers and flight delays.  I am over the snow which sucks for me since Winter has not officially started.  Let's take a moment and pray that I make it thru this Snow Season (pause)!
I finally made it to PHX and my aunt picked me up.  We chatted over lunch at Applebee's.  I enjoyed having lunch with her because it has been a while since I have seen her!  We eventually made it back to their house and she immediately started cooking dinner for the next day!  I cuddled up on the couch and took a nap!  When I woke up she teased me about my nap but I could not help it!  I had been up since 4:30AM!  My body was tired.  Soon after, my cousins and uncle came home and started harassing me!  Always great to be around family!  I will update you on the rest of my Holiday Break tomorrow!

Thanking and Giving

I sure hope that you had a GREAT Thanksgiving break!  I managed to slide out of town before more white stuff fell to the ground.

My Thanksgiving was Fantastic (pictures and more details tomorrow- I promise)!

On my flight to Phoenix, I sat next to a red head (I love red heads... I wish that I was a red head.  Probably why I love all of the Weasley's in the HP series).  This little girl couldn't have been over 10 but was completely a little adult.  Her mom sat in the row behind us and did not seem to care that she was separated from her child.  The little girl colored on those velvet boards with her markers, introduced me to her stuffed animals (shadow and slush) and listened to music on her iPod.  She was flying to AZ to spend the holiday with her Uncles and told me about the cat that she was leaving at home!  Cute Kid!!! Hope she had a fantastic holiday!

So instead of telling you about all of the things that I am Thankful for... I want to say thank you to YOU!  Yes you who are reading these words.  You are my blog reader but if you are reading this you are probably a loved one- So thanks for taking a few minutes out of your day to check up on me!  Means a lot to me!  I was reminded just yesterday that being a Negative Nancy gets you no where... Positivity People!  Good thoughts... Kind words.  Too bad not everyone gets that!  I am trying to find a way to Give- More of me... More of my time!  I will let you know how that goes.

Say it Ain't So

Yes the Time has COME!

The boots are on my feet and iPhone gloves are on my fingers.  This can only mean one thing...

SNOW

I am not too excited about the white wet stuff that has been falling from the sky for the last two days and is supposed to continue tonight and tomorrow.  I have a flight to catch on Wednesday and do not want any delays....  Just last week I was lounging by the pool in Cali- Working on a tan(yeah right) and now I am bundled up for blizzards.  OH MY!

Moving on~

Lately- I have been gearing up for the Christmas Holiday Break!  My plane ticket has been purchased and I am just waiting on the day to come to hop on a plane and be back in the south.

I have been spending time at the movie theatre lately.  I saw For Colored Girls by Tyler Perry and I also saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows:  Part 1.  For Colored Girls was an okay movie.  It was not my favorite but I understood everything that the movie was portraying.  My only problem was that it was being adapted from a play and I feel like they should have removed the play elements.  Harry- My dear wonderful Harry!  The movie delivered... it stayed pretty close to the book.  I gave it an A (no plus or minus).  I can't wait to see Part 2.

While I was relaxing by the pool in Cali, I finished Eric Jerome Dickey's most recent book, Tempted by Trouble.  I love EJD.  His books are always page turners.  This book was different from the previous.  But I enjoyed it!  Pick it up if you want a murder/thriller.

That is it for me... I need to relax and calm down before I get ahead of myself and find myself in Trouble.  Have a GREAT MONDAY!

Back to Reality

It is Monday and I am back to the real world... not the TV show but my life.  I spent the last few days in wonderful California... soaking up sun and relaxing.  I will tell you more about that later on but until that time please enjoy these three pictures!

My Favorite Veteran

Happy Veterans Day!  Please take some time out of your day and thank the men and women who have served our country!  My favorite Veteran is my Pappy, Daddy, number one man in my life, and all that other good stuff!

My Daddy served in the military for over 30 years!  I remember when I was in elementary school and he came and spoke to classes about serving in the military.  For the last week, my Daddy has been going around with his VFW (Veterans of Foreign War) group and speaking to schools, at ceremony's and parades!  He loves it and I am so proud of him!  The last time I heard him speak was a few years ago when I accompanied him to speak at a HBCU.

Enjoy this beautiful day!

Chick Feel A

One of the best chicken places is Chic-fil-A!  I can remember when I was younger, my aunt, grammy and tootsie would go shopping on Saturday's.  You could always walk by Chic-fil-A on the mall and get a sample of their chicken nuggets!  Good times!  When I was in Junior high, my school did not have a cafeteria so we had outside vendors who would come and bring lunch everyday.  Chic-fil-A would come every Thursday!  I vividly remember Queen B and I eating a chicken sandwich.  So my love for this chicken place was started when I was young and has grown... When I was in Grad school a Chic-fil-A popped up on the corner across the street from my house.  I even won 52 free chicken sandwiches from there!!! So my love for Chic-fil-A runs deep.  When I moved up North I realized that Chic-fil-A was not up in these parts.  Can we say heart break city?  I did not know if I could make it without some lemonade and sweat tea.  Rumors started buzzing around my J-O-B that a Chic-fil-A was coming to campus.  I ignored the rumors...until one day this summer when I heard that it was the TRUTH!!!!  Sure enough I saw my confirmation with my own two eyes
They said that it was the first in the state! They were supposed to open in October but the date got pushed back to the first Thursday in November.  So last week the marketing team were on their A Game!!!  Handing out free sandwiches because let's face it... Not many of these people have ever had their chicken before let alone knew how to say the name.  Students stood in line to be one of the first one hundred to eat free once a week for a year.  And the lines the first few days have been out of this world long!!!  I won't complain... Just excited to have one closer to me again!!!
YUMMY!

Terrible Me- Taco Edition

Could I be anymore terrible?  I don't blog when I say that I am going to?  I leave you without your fill of Tiny Chocolates and expect for things to just be okay?!?  You don't have time for my excuses so I will just jump into the good things!!!

Last week I cooked some Taco Soup!!!  The weather man has reassured me that the weather will not be warmer any longer! YIKES!!!  So I took advantage of this and made some soup!  The recipe is from my Mimi's daughter who is a friend of mine!  Her name is La La and she is the sweetest person (just like her mama)!
Ingredients
~1 1/2 lbs of hamburger meat ( I use ground turkey)
~1 can of rotel (I used mild)
~1 can of diced tomatoes (optional)
~1 chopped onion (I used a sweet onion)
~1 can whole kernel corn
~2 can Ranch style beans
~1 can chopped green chilli's (optional)
~1 package ranch dressing mix
~1 package taco seasoning mix
~2 cups of water

Directions
Brown meat and drain.  Mix together all ingredients together in pan and boil.  (I did not drain any of the canned goods.  I dumped everything in a BIG pot).

The soup  was very yummy and tasty!  It had a tad bit of spice to it but it was perfect!!! I would be great served with some Frito chips and cheese.  I substituted the Frito's for Tortilla chips (do you know that Frito's are kind of expensive these days!?!)  This recipe has been on my fridge for over 2 years!  So glad that I finally got a chance to use it!!!

I begin traveling on Thursday... 1 trip for business and two for pleasure!!!  Can't wait to tell you more about that later!!!

I of Lately

This post will serve as an update on my life....

I updated the look of the website for FALL.... Does it make you think of FALL....?????

I took a three day weekend... Just because I needed some rest.  I decided to celebrate the occasion by getting a Hot stone massage.  Oh and it lasted an hour and a half.  Pure bliss and perfection.  I love getting massages but I feel like I don't do it often enough.  I doubt that I will change that but I need to!

I shopped with a good friend that just accepted a job back in the south... I sure will miss her but I understand the need to be closer to friends and family.  We shopped for 4 hours.  That is a very long time for me.  But I did buy 2 new pair of boots and 2 new pair of jeans/leggings/jeggings.

I treated her to a dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.  I love the Cheesecake Factory and I think that they should rename that place the Calorie Factory.  I assure you that my hips and Esther do not appreciate when I go there!

I cracked up at the episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta yesterday!!! Some of my favorite words from the show were:  pancake syrup, sugar, koolaid and beef curtains!!!

I almost hit a girl on a bike yesterday morning.  It was an accident... she was not paying attention to the traffic signals and it was not her time to go!  Luckily, Jesus saved both of our lives and all was well!

I will be traveling starting next week!  Yippiee!!!  I'm very excited!

I will be chatting about Food tomorrow... Stop back by for a new recipe!!!!

From ear to ear

Today is the true definition (in my opinion) of a fall day.  It is cold/brisk, gray and rainy.  The leaves are changing and falling to the ground.  I finally broke out the gloves (not my iPhone gloves- just regular gloves) to keep my fingers warm.  Thank you Kay May for giving me your iPhone gloves!!!  I am prepared to go to the Football game tonight but only if the weather gets a little better.  I refuse to sit out in the cold and rain!

Almost two weeks ago my big headed wonderful loving older brother called me and told me that he would be coming to visit me.  Well not really to visit me, he would be working but he was only taking the job so he could see me.  I haven't seen my brother since April so please believe me when I say that I was extremely Happy!!! I knew that we would not get to spend too much time together but I was hoping that he could squeeze in a meal with me!  Of course he said yes and that started me thinking- What shall I cook?  I had come across a new recipe for steak and grits but my brother doesn't eat grits.  So I asked him what he wanted and his reply was simple "fried chicken and potatoes."  I went all out and made an Earthquake cake.  The recipe is super easy!!! I also prepared whipped potatoes, fresh green beans and fresh corn cut off the cob!  I really felt like I had been cooking for HOURS!  OH I forgot to mention that I also baked some chicken with a homemade bbq sauce and browned some rolls.  Well my brother came over and boy did he eat!!!! He devoured the fried chicken and cleaned his plate twice.  I was hoping to bring left overs to work today but that did not happen!!!  So glad that I got to spend time with him!  And really looking forward to seeing family in November and December for the holiday season!!!

I am still smiling from ear to ear!

Enjoy your Tuesday!

Getting in Trouble

I received a phone call last night telling me that I should do better on my blog...  It still makes me giggle when people call me and tell me that they have been reading (But I LOVE IT!!!)  Sorry for the absence.  Work, work and more work is my excuse.

Last week, I finished a chapter in my wonderful book of life.  I was so happy to turn the page and be done with it... I feel like I am talking in code so I will give you a little bit more.  I have had a couple of friends ask me why I don't talk about dating on my blog, relationship advice, being Single in the city!!!  It's just not right for me.  I don't have horror stories of being set up with terrible people or anything.  My good friend, Berkley, teased me the other day because he said that I had been implying that I only date Black men.  Though I have never put that on my blog-  I have had the typical experiences that most young woman have had.  I have talked to some great guys and a few SBAN's (please message me if you don't know what a SBAN is).  But it is great when you can get some things off your chest and move on... That is what happened to me last week.

This week is full of BIG SURPRISES!!!!
And I will even give you a hint!  It involves a Cake and a VISITOR!

HOLLA~

Food, Friends and Fun

I have been keeping a secret from you... Motivation came and knocked on my front door and insisted that I start working out twice a day... I did so well for 2 months and then I fell back off of the work out wagon.  I am hoping that motivation comes back again...

The other day I was persuaded to go to one of my favorite restaurants in town Ono.  KSan knew that I had been craving Hawaiian food and told me that we should go after work.  Have you ever tried Spam Sushi?  It is delish!  The spam is cooked and served with a wonderful sauce.... I was watching Food Network the other day and they showed it being served in Hawaii... Maybe I need to jump on a plane and check it out over there... Regardless- I love it and so glad that I have had the chance to try it since moving up North.
The pieces are big!! If you have never tried sushi before and you like rice and spam... YOU can't go wrong!!!  Next up was fried rice... I think that fried rice here is the best that I have ever had (compared to Chinese fried rice).  It had chicken, veggies and they asked how you wanted your egg served with it... obviously I watch way to much FOOD NETWORK and told them to serve it like this

I asked them to throw some pineapples in there for a touch of sweetness.  It is so nice to eat dinner with a friend!  Thanks KSan!!!

On to baby news!  Received a text this morning letting me know that my bff KMM is expecting a little boy in March!  It is really hard for me to imagine KMM pregnant.  I know that she is but it is not real because I haven't seen her in a few months!  It won't become real to me unless I see her with a belly.  We were texting last night (while watching RHOA) and I told her that a MAC product that they were using on one of the "Housewives" was a piece that I owned.  She told me that I must like to look like a whore!  I could not believe that she would tell me something like that!  I told her to shut up.  I used that piece of MAC on her for her wedding day.  She told me to take a look at her belly and see the condition that she was in.  Gotta love your friends!!!

Speaking of MAC, I bought two new pieces this weekend.  I think that I needed some Retail Therapy.  I purchased a new mascara, Opulash.  So far so good but I will let you know how I really feel about it after I have used it for a while.  The second piece was a new pigment called Fuchsia.  I wore it yesterday and got a couple of compliments!

Food, Friends and Fun... Can't live without them!

Random Treatment

I had it all planned out... What I wanted to talk to you about... interesting stories and tid bits but then it happened!  I changed my mind and decided to give you the RANDOM Treatment.  A random treatment will be me being RANDOM!!! or some likes and dislikes...

I love the fact that my family does not think that I am coming home for Christmas... it cracks me up!  I don't know why they think that I am staying up North or that I am running away to some far away land.  Lord willing I will be HOME for the Holidays...

I love that my Pappy KNOWS that I am coming home and is counting down the days until I get there.  He will be tired of me by the time that I leave... But he will be thrilled to see me come! (He even offered to pay for my plane ticket home!)

I'm in LOVE with Vitamin water ZERO... I pray that the obsession ends soon.  I swear I'm addicted to that beverage.  I have about 5 flavors that are my fave and I promise you that my cabinet is full of all of them...

I dislike the fact that I fall in love with LIMITED EDITION everything.  I am the Queen of Limited Edition items.  MAC is notorious for making me fall in love with something and then snatching it back into its vault of perfect never to be seen again items.

I'm trying to find the motivation to start Holiday shopping... don't know if or when I will get motivated.

I hate the fact that people think that I am lying to them when I say that I am single.  It is a true statement.  I am single like a one dollar bill.  I hate it when the same people ask me when I am getting married.  I don't know... But if you talk to GOD and HE tells you when I'm getting hitched, please pass the info to me!

I love nice feet... I get a pedicure once a month.. Doesn't matter that usually I am the only person to see my feet.. they still have to look nice.

I love driving and letting the wind play in my hair.  Warm spring days are the best!  I am not looking forward to winter.  Fall isn't too bad but winter means iPhone gloves, hats and coats... But just like life you need to go thru all seasons.  It makes you appreciate your favorites that much more.

I think that I have been random enough for one day...
Thanks for taking a RANDOM moment with me

Randomly YOURS~

My Friend Frank

Middle of the week... Middle of the road.... Sometimes I feel like I am working just to get to the weekend but then that wouldn't make sense because I usually work on the weekends!! But this weekend I get the whole weekend off which is the best thing ever!!! Last week, I worked all day on Saturday... I had a great time but I am just a little worn out and ready for the Christmas Vacation... I do believe that it is around 72 days until the Birthday of Jesus!

Ladies, have you ever had a male that would eat out of the palm of your hand?  Well this weekend I spent some time with my new friend FRANK!  Frank caught my eye and I did something that I never do... I made the first move and approached him.  He was so sweet- It did not bother him when all I wanted to do was look at his beautiful eyes and rub on him... Please say Hello to my friend Frank:
I really think that Frank liked me because I had just eaten a Snicker and he could smell it... That did not bother me at all!  He sniffed me and realized that I was his kind of woman!  He let me feed him a treat and even smiled at me after!  I was so sad when Frank had to go but I will always remember my time with Frank!!!

Enjoy your day

Squeeze a Boob....

Because it is October and breast cancer awareness month- I decided to change up a few things.  Hope that you like the new background.  I have been donating to Stand up 2 Cancer for the past couple of years.  I prefer SU2C over Komen... but that is just me!!!!  A few days ago marked the 9th year for me that my mommy passed.  If your mommy is still living- Call, text or facebook her and tell her that you love her!!!  And if you are a woman- Please Squeeze your boobs once a month... And I guess if you are a man... well I don't know what to tell you!

This morning I was watching my usual morning show- Good Morning America.  They did a segment on items to buy that have been previously owned.  One item that stuck out in my mind were band instruments.  I had to laugh about it because my family has passed down a clarinet for years.  It all started with my oldest girl cousin T.  T was in the band and played the clarinet!  A few years later my Tootsie was in the band and low and behold that family instrument came back and landed in her lap.  Then when I was in Elementary school, I had to play an instrument and did not have a choice of what I wanted to play because we already a free instrument in the family!  Oh the Clarinet.  My mommy was nice and had it cleaned and maybe something replaced- but I was forced to play it because it was free.  I only played the clarinet for one year!!!  Then after me it was one of my twin cousins- though I am not sure which one.  I know that my cousin wanted to play but I don't think she did.  I believe that it interfered with sports so she couldn't.  The clarinet was a great family investment!!!

Later this week I will be telling you about my friend FRANK...

Have a great day...

GOMN- ALL Of the Drama

This post is not going to be ladylike.  Please excuse my bad language (just this one time) and let me get somethings off my chest.  Lately, people have been giving me a hard time.  And I realize that I am not the only one who is having a hard time.  I have had plenty of conversations with my pals about the rudeness of people.  How are these people being rude?  These rude people like to give you a hard time rather it be a co-worker, boss or anyone really!  I am sure that you have had a run in with someone who just wants to give you DRAMA!  I am proud to say that I am Drama free!  I am not in a relationship, all of my friendships/family relationships are as well as can be expected and things are going well at my job.  But people don't always want to leave me alone.  And the only thing that I want to say to people who don't want to leave me alone is "GOMN!"  You might be wondering what is GOMN stands for- Get Off My Nuts!  The only reason that I am writing about this is it seems that alot of you who read the blog (and I know that there are more than 5 of you so if you have not liked the blogged, please hit FOLLOW on the RIGHT upper corner PLEASE! Tootsie, KMM, Gribbs!)

I realized that I am not a man and "technically" I don't have them, but sometimes that is the only way to describe the feeling of having people all in your business.  I realize that this is just something that happens in life.  People wanting to know whats going on with you- Not doing what they are supposed to be doing because they are too worried with what you are doing.  I GET IT!  But sometimes you just want to tell those people to GOMN and get away from me!  Let me do me for a minute!!!  So the next time that your boss is giving you a hard time- Pretend that you are telling him/her "GOMN!!"  I would not recommend saying it out loud because I am sure that you want to keep your job!  But you can always think of it in your head!

I hope that you enjoyed this and please do not take any offense to this post.  I promise to go back to the regular stuff... But this had to be mentioned.

Diagnosed with....

Today could easily be considered a Fall day.  The only good part about that is that the rain decided to wait until I was safely in my office before it came tumbling out of the sky.  And I really do appreciate that since I just washed my hair on Sunday.  I guess that I should explain why it is acting like Fall.... The gray overcast sky, leaves on the ground (and being tracked into the building) and the craving for a bowl of chili.  Oh and I almost forget... wanting to crawl into bed/ a big chair, couch and just veg out!  And my student worker even came into my office and told me that I didn't look too good.  She apologized for saying it and I know that I look fine because I am wearing a custom blended shade of MAC grape Pigment.  She was referring to that fact that I look tired.  And because of all of these things I had to self diagnose myself with a case of the BLAHs.  Are you familiar with the blahs?  The need to just be left alone- When you can't put your finger on what is wrong with you but you just need some time?  Well that has to be what is wrong with me today!  I woke up on time but was not motivated to get out of bed.  I was in a LONG meeting this morning, when all I really wanted was for everyone to be quiet and take a nap.  So what can you do to get over the Blahs?  I ate some dark chocolate, a bowl of chili and turned on some good music!  The Blahs are starting to leave me... And not a moment too soon!
Last night I was very excited because Real Housewives of Atlanta are BACK!!!  Out of all of the RHO series I can say that Atlanta gives you the most!!! The most attitude, fights, drama and all of the extra stuff.  I also loooovvvee RHOA because I can have date night with my bff KMM.  We might live in different States, but we always text during the show and call each other during the breaks.  I am very excited for a new season of over the top, hood rat type drama (in a very classy way) ;-).  BOOP!

Well... I guess that I should go so that I can get rid of the Blahs for the rest of the day!

Burnt Biscuits

Hey~

I hope that you had a great weekend! 2 things for you today.  Something silly and something serious... which pretty much sums up me!!  I mean sums me up!  haha

This cracked me up!!! Loved it!  Thanks A-Dogg for putting it on FB!  If you don't know, the video was a spoof of a song by Bobby Brown!  It really cracks me up!  Mike Tyson can NOT dance.  Oh My!!!

Below is a little something that I read today.  It really put a smile on my face and put a few things into perspective!!! Hope you get something out of it too....
Luv~

Burnt Biscuits

When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my Mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of m...y dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom, and ask me how my day was at school.

I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite! When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget what he said: "Honey, I love burned biscuits."

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your Mamma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides – a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!"

You know, life is full of imperfect things... And imperfect people. I'm not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else. What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each others faults - and choosing to celebrate each others differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.

That's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the good, the bad, and the difficult parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God. Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a relationship where a burned biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!

We could extend this to any relationship. In fact, understanding is the basis of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or friendship!

"Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket - keep it in your own." So… please pass me a biscuit, and yes, the burned one will do just fine!

And please pass this along to someone who has enriched your life... I just did! Life is too short to wake up with regrets… Love the people who treat you right and pray for those that don't.

Pot of Luck

GREETINGS!!!

Could it be that we have completed another work week?  Not really for me.  I have to work tomorrow- But that is okay with me!  I mentioned yesterday that we were having a Pot Luck at work and would be serving brunch.  The only casserole that crossed my mind was a dish that my Grammy made years and years ago.  I always loved it because it was a Grit casserole.  Unfortunately, I don't have the recipe and knew my Grammy would not know.  What is a girl supposed to do?  Well I googled around and found the recipe (or what I think is the recipe) and then realized that these Northerners probably don't do grits.  I also realized that I need to make something that I could cook in the Crock Pot.  So I googled again and found a Breakfast Casserole.  I had to go to the store and buy all of the ingredients for the dish and then prepared it while I watched Top Chef Just Desserts.  TCJD was a great episode!  But I am sure that I will probably say the same thing next week!  Back to the Casserole- I was not impressed.  I really feel like all of the different components shine separately, but put together the flavors were very muddled.  But maybe that is what happens when you do not modify the recipe.  I usually monitor and adjust but I did not this time.  It really doesn't matter since all of my co-workers and students ate the whole thing.  My recommendations for the recipe would be to add more salt and pepper, more cheese (possibly even a little Velveeta).  And do NOT bake it for 10-12 hours.  I think I baked it for 9 hours and it was completely done!  The new crock pot is HEAVY!  Talk about a work out- Just carrying that thing from the car into the building- WOW!  I would also suggest that you have some salsa to serve with the casserole for an extra kick!   Someone brought doughnuts for the brunch!  Take a look at this beauty:
A bacon Maple Bar!  Talk about sweet and salty!  Well that is it for me.  Hope that October is treating you well!!!

Lots of Luv

Little Things

Lately I have been smiling because of the little things.  Maybe I have mentioned before that I am not a morning person.  I usually don't perk up until 10AM.  I am functioning before 10 but my brain really starts going around 10.  My student worker decided to surprise me with a Chai Tea Latte... She really knows how to put a smile on my face.  The other little things are simple:  walking outside at night and starring up at the sky, smiling because one of your favorite songs pops up on the radio (or Pandora) and knowing that if your friends were with you that they would be dancing, realizing that Christmas is days away, receiving a Nike T-shirt in the mail from your ROCK STAR co-worker!  All of these things have happened within the last 2 days.

I bought a new Crock pot almost 2 months ago.  Its very sleek and sophisticated because it has a timer!  I tried it out last night for the first time.  I know that I should have tried it out before but I haven't had time to cook.  We are having a pot luck brunch today at the J-O-B.  I figured that I would try out a new recipe.  I will let you know what the co-workers think about it.

Enjoy your Thursday... or better yet Friday Eve

All of My Children

Hey!!! I can't believe that just last week I was telling you that Fall was almost here!  Now I am happy to say that summer decided that it was not quite done and has heated up the temps!  It was in the 90's yesterday and should stay there for the rest of the week!  That is fine with me!  My pedicure still looks good- I can continue to so wear my sandals!

I have metioned before that I have tons and tons of nieces and nephews!  I also have some more children that are very dear to me.  I call them All of My Children, just like the soap opera because their lives remind of the soaps.  AoMC were my kids at my previous J-O-B and let me tell you they were a MESS.  I never knew what to expect.  I guess that I should explain that AoMC are not kids- They are young adults.  They are in college and they would come in to my office and update me on their drama, problems, ups and downs or nothing in particular.  I miss them so much!!! Hugs and kisses!!!

I am excited that all of my shows are back in rotation.  My DVR is thrilled that I am spending some QT with him (yes my DVR is a HIM- don't judge me!!!).  My evenings are spent watching food shows, Hoarders, Real Housewives of (pick a city- I watch them ALL), Gray's and Private and so many more.   That is it for me today.  If you have any suggestions of some shows that I should be viewing- please let me know!  Also, I am thinking about taking a mini-vacay in late October or early November!  If you would like for me to visit your city, please leave a comment!  I need to go out of the NORTH.... I miss that Southern Hospitality!

A Normal Day

Are you ready for the Weekend?  Yay! Finally- Friday has arrived!  And I also get to enjoy my weekend because I don't have to WORK! I will be working next weekend so I will enjoy my time tomorrow. I will watch a least a few minutes of 2 football games tomorrow!  I will also be cooking some goodies (game day food- chicken wings and chip and dip).  Both of the football games that I will be glancing at tomorrow, have ESPN set up in their city!  So much going on!!!

One of the reasons that I love working with students, is that you have no clue what can happen at any time.  I walked out of my office yesterday and was greeted by this:
I was surprised!  I was not expecting a mascot to be running around in the office!  I whipped out iNdee the iPhone and took a few photos.  I asked Buster to pose for me!

So Cute!!!  Then I told Buster that he should be ashamed!  I could see where his privates SHOULD be!

So much better!!!  Good luck to all teams this weekend!
I think this is where I will leave you... Have a fantastic weekend!  Catch you next week!

Something Sweet

Could it be that I have actually blogged for a few days in a row (even if one of my posts was lacking and pathetic- thanks for pointing that fact out).  I told you that I would step up to the challenge.  So much goes on that it is hard to find the time.  I guess that things won't slow down until the summer, and no this is not me complaining!  I love the busy feeling.  I figured that I would let my inner fat girl come out and play- MISTAKE!  She can not be trusted!  I had an event yesterday and served some sweets!!! Once upon a time I did not have a sweet tooth.  I definitely have a sweet tooth now... I love chocolate and most desserts in general.  I am trying to exercise portion control... Here is a plate of the treats:
They are a few of my favorite treats at the J-O-B.  Our catering staff knows that I am a Foodie and usually know my favorite!  The fruit tart cups are the BEST!!!  The filling is sooo good and the crust is flaky!  The cookie is a coconut macaroon with raspberry filling!  It is great!!! Simply perfect!

I was chatting with my wonderful older big headed brother this morning and he told me that he would be going to one of my favorite places- New Orleans!!!  As a foodie- New Orleans has some of the best cuisine around!  It makes the inner fat girl squeal with glee!!  I told my brother to catch a cab and go to Dooky Chase!  I found out about DC from a friend.  I knew that she was a beautiful Creole woman from NOLA and asked her for some suggestions!  This is one recommendation that I am so glad that I took.  The area is a little sketchy but the food more than make ups for it!  I was hoping to go to NOLA over the summer and eat again but someone, I won't name any names (ahem KMM!!!) wasn't able to attend, so the trip was postponed!

And because Tonight is the Season Premiere of Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice, I am thinking that maybe I should get into the kitchen and cook...  I will keep you posted!

Have a Yummy Day

Come and Knock on My Door

We've been waiting for you... Well I guess you could say that I have been waiting for you!  The only person who comes and knocks on my door is my Stranger Neighbor!  And because she has been mentioned on the blog a few times before I have decided to release her name (well it's made up)... Since she is the Girl Next Door, I will call her Bridget!  Bridget came by the other day and was chatting to me about nothing in particular and had given me a fresh tomato out of her Grandma's garden.  She mentioned that one of her friends was going to be having a Game Night at her house and asked if I wanted to go.  I said maybe and didn't think too much about it.  A few days later, my office phone jingled and the caller ID notified me that it was a Bank.  I thought that the Bank was calling me about a program and some prizes that they owed me but low and behold it was Bridget!  She was letting me know that Game Night was that night and that it would Bunko/bonco however you want to spell it and pronounce it!  She apologized for being stalkerish but knew where I worked and had tracked me down.  I laughed!  I was surprised that she found me but told her that I would attend.  Because she is my next door neighbor we rode over to game night together and I got to meat 6 new wonderful gals!  Bridget only knew the hostess, who happens to be a local weather girl for one of the news stations.  We played 2 games of Bunko... I didn't do very well but the whole game is rolling dice!  But I did have a nice time.  The hostess was talking about her gay cat (can animals be gay???).

The gals and I are supposed to get together again and play Bunko... I will let you know how that goes!

Enjoy your day....

Slice of Pie

Fall is almost here... I can see it slowing beginning as leaves are starting to change colors and the cooler temps that greet me every morning as I head out the door to the J-O-B.  Fall is not my favorite season but I feel like I am seeing it differently this year.  You could even say that I might be a little excited to see Fall.  And there are a few reasons why..Boots, Fall MAC collection, soups and tea.  I have already seen at least 3 pairs of boots that are calling my name, begging me to bring them home and treat them well!  I have resisted thus far but I am sure that I will splurge and buy 2 pair.  Typically, the Fall MAC collection is the best of the year!  They always have great colors!  I'm ready for a good bowl of Baked Potato Soup and hot cup of Chai Latte Tea.  Yes, Fall you are trying to make me fall in Love with you!  And I might just let you!

Tons of things have been going on in my little bubble.  I am so happy that life has slowed down just a little!  My Stranger Neighbor has been stopping by more now! (more on that tomorrow).  I even took the time to make some banana bread last week.  I haven't baked in quite a while.  Maybe I will take the time to get back in the kitchen.

Football season is HERE!  I completely understand sports.  I will watch it with friends but if I'm at home by myself, I would much rather have the TV on HGTV or something else.  You could say that I am not a Fan and I would agree.  Invite me over to watch the game and I will bring you wonderful snacks!  It is the Foodie in me!  My Pappy LOVES Football season and because his favorite team isn't doing so well this year (Dallas Cowboys) I have been avoiding calling him on Sunday's.  I don't want to talk to him while he is being cruddy!!!

I have mentioned this before and I will mention it again... Sometimes I forget that I am blessed.  At times I feel that because I don't have the things that I want, that I am being forgotten.  Yesterday at church a Lady had a seizure.  The ambulance came and took her to the hospital.  One of the members said that she did  not have insurance.  This is a very nice lady, probably in her 40's.  She has been affected by the economy.  Previously she had worked for a big computer company, but had been let go and is working else where.  I take for granted the fact that I have a job that provides insurance.  I want a new car and tend to forget that there is nothing wrong with the one I have.  I overlook the fact that I live in a nice apartment and am debt free.  Sometimes you just have to eat a slice of pie and be Humble.

have a great day....

Celebrations and a little something extra

I started off on the Good Foot this morning!  As I was doing my makeup, MAC- only (forever and always) my bf Queen B texted me.  It had totally slipped my mind that she was going to the doctor to get an ultrasound to determine the sex of her first child.  Congrats Queen B on Baby Boy B!!!! Can't wait to see the little man come February!!!

I feel like I need to touch on my love for MAC.  I know that there are women out there who do not like to wear make up.  I am not one of those women.  I do not need to wear make up but I choose to wear makeup because it gives me a little extra something!  I do feel like all women can benefit from makeup.  Even the Basics can go a LONG way!  Some of the basics that I feel women should have are simple.
  1. Moisturizer-  I am Black (and Black don't Crack (or so they say).  My skin can be oily and I still moisturise everyday.  I know that this will be a huge plus for me when I am older and have very few wrinkles.  I feel that all women should take care of their skin (face included) and have a good moisturiser.  It goes a long way!  Please believe me
  2. Lips- If you aren't putting something on your lips, please go somewhere and buy a good lip balm.  Because people are looking at your face when you talk, dried lips can distract them.  Make sure to help those dry chapped lips and put a little something on them.  Your lips will thank you (I promise!!!)
  3. Even you Out- I know that some women are afraid that a foundation will be too heavy.  I agree!  I am not a big foundation person.  I do think that it is nice have a nice even complexion.  My solution would be to get a tinted moisturizer.  That way you are getting the moisture that you so desperately need and a little tint of something to make you sparkle!
  4. Eyes- I might be the queen of the bright over the top eye!  But that is okay with me!  I am not saying that everyone needs to go over the top.  A little eye make up can do wonders for the face.  I would say that a good mascara can open up the eyes.  If you don't feel comfortable wearing eye shadow, the mascara can still help you out!!
  5. Waxing- This goes along with the eyes- but making sure that your eye brows are waxed and/or plucked/ threaded (whatever is the method that you prefer) is a simple little thing to do.  I know that it may hurt but it looks so Good!!!! Ladies, if you have a mustache- PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take care of it!  I know that some of you think that if you wax/pluck/thread/ the hair that it will come back thicker.  This is NOT true.  If you are getting the eyebrows plucked, please let them take care of the mustache on the top lip!!!  Do not let yourself swim in DENIAL!  People are looking at the mustache!  Take care of it...
I am not an expert on Makeup... I know that!  But these little easy steps can do so much for you!

Tiny Sentimental Birthday

See..I'm here!!! I told you I would do better!!!  I am trying to make the time to blog more. Somehow, Someway. I will get it right one of these days.

Today is September 15 and it is a special/sentimental day for me.  Today would be the birthday of my Mama.  For those who knew my mom, I will talk about my mom but for those who did not know my mom- I tend to not say too much.  The memories that I have of My Mama are so precious and I hold them near my heart.  She was a very special person to me and not one day goes by that I don't think about her! The older that I get the more that I wish that she was her but at the same time, because she has been gone for so long- I can't imagine life with her.

And because it is my Mama's birthday I will tell you a story!  A little something about the both of us.  And because My Mama had another child (my big headed wonderful loving older brother) I will include him on the story too.  When I was younger (grade school young) I got sick.  I pretended that I was well because it was Skate Day.  Do you remember Skate Day?  The day after school that the whole school would attend the local skating rink and have a school skate evening!?  Skate Day was always important because it was a non-uniform day.  I went to private school and wore a uniform until high school people!  Well on that day, I decided that I was not really sick and suffered through the whole day!  I got to the Skate place and skated for a while before I just couldn't hide it anymore.  One of the teachers noticed that I wasn't feeling well and made me call home (on a pay phone- cell phone's were not common at all at this time).  I called home and soon my brother came and picked me up.  While he was driving me home, we passed my mom.  She realized that I was sick and took me to the after hours clinic where the doctor diagnosed me with pneumonia and instructed my mom to take me to the hospital where I would be getting admitted!  I remember my mom being there the whole time, even when they struggled to get my i v started.  She only left when she knew that I was sleep so she could go get some clothes.  I was upset when I woke up and realized that she was gone- But she quickly returned to take care of me.  I will always be her "Hershey's Girl".

For the Hater(s)

Hey Hey Hey!!!  I feel like I need to apologize again... I know that I take a few days off... but it is not because I don't want to blog.  It is because I don't have TIME!  Oh time... that precious thing that always seems to get away from me!  Last week, I said that I would finish telling you about my special weekend with my Kay May.  So here are a few more pics of the GORGEOUS Hot Air Balloons!

I am trying to figure out how to add an album on the blog so that you can view more pics!!!  But I am not sure how long that will take me to figure out so if you know please let me know!!!  Kay May and I had a LONG LONG day!  After watching the HAB (Hot Air Balloons) go up up and away, we went and had breakfast.  We headed on down to the Farmer's Market and sampled some really good produce.  I finally found a vendor (just one) who sold okra.  He said that it has been a bad year for okra and explained to me why I did not see anyone with it!  Kay May wanted to make dinner the next day so she bought some fresh cucumbers, green beans, tomatoes and grapes.  The grapes were fantastic!  She even put them in little baggies for me to take to work to have snacks!!!  After the farmer's market we did tons more!  We hiked, paddle boated on the water, had lunch, an ice cream snack and even had a little dinner at my favorite restaurant.  After dinner at my local fave, Asiago's, we went back to the park to see the HAB lit up at night!  It was so pretty!!!  The next day we did an activity that made my heart sing- We SHOPPED!  I am not a fan of shopping!  I will look for makeup all day long but I am not one to want to go and try on clothes.  I am not my target weight and I hate trying on clothes (and I am searching for some motivation to get back into the gym a bit more regularly).  But when I shop with Kay May it is different and kind of fun!  Overall, I had a great time with my visitor and extend an invite to any other loved one who wants to have a vacay with me!!!

Have a lovely day

Up Up and Away

Have I mentioned that the North treats me pretty good?  No?  Well I probably don't mention it enough!  The big things for me up here is the diversity and the big distance thing that keeps me from family and friends.  Over Labor Day weekend, my Kay May, decided that she missed me and needed to come visit... Words can't describe how excited I was that someone wanted to hop on a plane and come and visit me!  I cleaned my house- I mean really cleaned- mopped, vacuumed, dusted, laundry, cleaned out the fridge, scrubbed everything... you get the point.  I even took off from work on Friday 1) because she would be arriving and 2) because I had only taken one day off the whole summer and I was starting to get a tad bit edgy.  Kay May told me not to make any plans for her visit and that we would play it by ear.  While I was perusing Facebook, I saw where my friend TK had mentioned something about Hot air balloons.  TK is a photographer- Check out her blog here.  I casually mentioned Hot Air balloons to Kay May and she was immediately captivated by them.  So she googled about the activity and Low and Behold- we started making plans!  I am NOT- NOT- NOT a morning person.  You have to bribe me to get me out of the bed for early morning activities.  The Hot Air Balloon activity would begin at 7 AMish.  I needed to figure out why should I get up out of the bed, put on clothes and drive to see balloons... But I realized that I have never had the opportunity to see Hot Air Balloons before and since I had company that I should be on my best BeHaViOr!  I rolled out of bed and we went to Starbucks.  The lady at Starbucks said that they were pretty busy for a Saturday Morning.  And the reason why the were so busy... The Hot Air Balloons.  We made it to the park and walked the short distance to the park with tons of families- pushing strollers, holding hands, carrying their kids who were still in their PJ's to see all of the Balloons.  It was such a beautiful sight to see 20+ balloons getting inflated and flying off in to the sky.  I had never been so close to something like this.  Here are a few pics from the Event!!!  I will tell you more about the Hot Air Balloons later...

Closed Door

Oh... My closet!  Yes what you are witnessing WAS my closet!  What you are seeing is only half of the mess-  I have Never Ever been a fan of organizing my closet. It was one of those tasks that I have always dreaded.  I would rather make sure that my MAC is in order and all of my brushes and pigments lined up just right!  When I moved, I knew that there was a good chance that I would only been up North for a few months and I did not feel that I should unpack my whole closet.  So I took the easy way out and only unpacked what I needed.  When I found out that I would be staying up North for longer than expected, I realized that I would need to unpack.  I have ALWAYS had great friends who have come over and helped me organize my closet.  RDM organized my previous closet twice!  And it was a HUGE walk in closet!  When I moved, my Kay May, packed up my closet and TOLD me to make sure that I did a good job organizing all of my clothes when I unpacked.  I had good intentions about unpacking once I realized that I would be here for a while but I was never motivated to get it done.  My dear sweet KSan came to the rescue.  About a month or so ago, KSan came over to my place and helped me get my life in order.  It was a long afternoon.  We used up every hanger in my place and went out to buy more (I knew I had more hangers but could not figure out where they had disappeared).  KSan was on it!  We hung up everything, even did a little color coordinating, bought some decorative boxes for purses and scarves and even took tags off of some new items :-) (for those of you who don't know- I hate taking tags off my clothes until the day that I wear it).  It was a wonderful afternoon with a wonderful Lady.  I'm still so happy that she came over to get that closet in order- And yes it is still organized!!!  I make sure to hang up all clean clothes and put my shoes away!!!  Here are the after pics:
I will be updating tomorrow on more recent events!!!

REAL-ly

It's Tuesday! I love coming back from Holiday weekends.  I even took off on Friday to make it a 4 day weekend!  I don't think that I realized that I have been needing some time off.  I have been promising people that I would do big updates on what has been going on lately but time is not my friend... SO TOMORROW (I'm putting it on the Blog so you can keep me accountable people)  I will start updating you on what is REAL-ly going on!!! And I assure you that it has been GREAT!  A big special Shout Out to my big homey A-Dogg on his wedding to his wonderful bride this weekend!  May God bless your union!!!  I called A-Dogg on Thursday so I could chat and wish him good thoughts and vibes before the big day.  I knew that I needed to chat with him before the big day because he would be VERY Busy.  To my surprise, when I called him on Thursday he was busy (ha ha) and said that he would call me that night!  I told him that I wouldn't hold my breath and he responded by saying that I didn't have faith!  Well he did not call me back on Thursday but called me the morning of his big day to say that he knew my thoughts and prayers were with him and that If I COULD- I would have been there to support them!  All of what he said was TRUE!  A-Dogg is a past supervisor/mentor/friend!  One of those people who you really want in your corner when times get tough!  About a year ago I had a stumble(or you could say that I was pushed) and he was the first person who I informed and helped me... And I am so thankful!  Congratulations big homey!!!

Don't forget to stop by tomorrow- You will be WOWed with all of the Activity!
Love ya

Cat Window

Tell me that I am dreaming.... There is no way that it is September.  Talk about time flying by- Hold on to your hats people!!!  I am gearing up for a very special occasion this weekend (more details next week)!!! My Stranger Neighbor came by last night and chatted with me.  She is a nice, talkative and bubbly young lady.  She came by just as I had started eating dinner.  We stayed outside and chatted for at least 15 minutes- which was just enough time for my dinner to be cold!  I didn't really mind because she is so nice and trying to friendly!  I can always appreciate a good neighbor!

Last Spring, I started parking in a new assigned parking spot at the J-O-B.  I was excited because it was a shorter walk for me into the building in the morning.  All excitement stopped when I realized that I was parking infront of CAT WINDOW....
Yes you are looking at Cat Window in all of it's glory.  I could not believe that someone had actually taken the time to put a hole in some ply wood so their cat could come and go when it pleased.  I am not an animal lover... I don't hate them but I don't love them either.  All summer I got to witness the cat waiting for me every morning or should I say CATS!  There are two of the fur balls.  The cat owner was even considerate enough to build a little step ladder over the gas meter.  I have seen doggie doors before but this Cat Window took the cake for weird and bizarre things.

Here's what I got to look at this morning when I pulled into my parking spot.  I had not seen the cats in a few days.  They like to lay underneath the cars and then run when you start getting too close for comfort.
Have a great Day
Love~ TC
