Let me Explain

Hope that you liked the pictures on Wednesday!  Let me explain....

Picture #1 was from a kid at the J-O-B...  Lacey has stopped by my office twice this week wearing socks with open toed shoes.  I was speechless when I saw this and cracked up when I heard her explanation.  She stated that her internship requires her feet to be covered and since these shoes were the most professional she wears socks with them.  Her pants are long so no one ever knows... Interesting.

Picture #2 is from Sannie.  All of the rain in the south meant flooding.  Sannie sent it to me this week and said that it was the parking lot at her job.  I told her that she needed some rain boats.  And possibly a Boat.

Picture #3 is from Kay May... who a month ago went to Mexico and had a little vacay.  I wish that I could go on a vacay... Anyone who is interested in going on a tropical vacation please leave a comment.  (I am being serious).

I hope that you all have a great weekend.  I am working the next 3 weekends in a row.... I am so ready for graduation and I am not the one graduating...

Fun Friday (A Week Later)

A week ago at this time I was in my hometown popping up and surprising my family and friends.

After the lengthy plane tour, I got to hang out with Sannie.  We went to Denny's and giggled at the drunkards.  I love having friends who I know love me for me.  It's been rather difficult for me to live up north and not have friends (let me be specific).  Friends who want to hang out, come over to eat or just be silly.  I enjoyed EVERY moment that I got to spend at home with them because Lord knows when or if that will happen again.

On Friday I got up and Sannie dropped me off at Kay May's.  This is how much I love Kay May:  When she visited me in September she bought some Scentsy.  Well actually she bought the Wal-Mart brand (Scentsational)!  As luck would have it, she fell in love with a particular scent, Guava Berry, and requested that I bring her $20 worth of it when I returned home.  I had no problem doing that for Kay May but I did not intend to get stopped going thru Security at the Airport because they didn't know what it is was.  I also didn't appreciate the fact that they checked my bag!  What people do for their loved ones!  Kay May allowed me to use her car so that I could drive down to my hometown and surprise my:  Pappy, my grandma's, aunts, cousin, Mimi, Queen B and her little one.  I hate that my visit was SO Short but I am so thankful that I got a chance to see my people.  I love surprising people and that is why people were not notified of me coming into town....

After home, I jumped back on the road so that I could return the car to Kay May.  Sannie picked me and I surprised 2 of my friends who had no clue that I was in town.  Their response to me was worth it!  We went to the mall and got pedicures.  I also got a Shellac manicure.  I was not a big fan.  We went out that night!  It was so nice catching up with people that you haven't seen in years...

That is it for me... Can't believe that I blogged 3 times this week!  More about the trip later...

The Tour

It might be a miracle that I have found the time to blog again this week... or might be that I am sick and not feeling like myself today...

I have mentioned before that I am a fan of Fabulous Customer Service.  I had a terrible encounter with a not so nice lady yesterday... I don't understand why people hire rude employees.  I prayed for the woman this morning.  One monkey don't stop no show... I told the devil to get behind me because I have too much going on to be bothered by foolishness...  Enough about that!

So I went HOME last Thursday.....  I worked until 1 and then went home to pack and clean up before I headed to the south.  I had looked at the weather beforehand and knew that there was a chance for thunderstorms.  Kay May warned me when I was sitting in the Airport about the severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings.  I knew but I didn't know what to expect.  My flight to Denver was great, no problems.  My flight from Denver into HOME left on time.  The pilots told us that yes there were storms but we should not have any problems.  All was well until about 30 minutes before the flight should have landed.  The pilots told us that we were waiting to start our descent because of the storms.  Again- NO problem.  We finally started descending... 5 minutes before we should have been on the ground the stewardist (does society still call them that?) gets on the intercom and says that the pilot has decided to turn around because the weather has turned bad quick....  I was extremely happy to have a pilot to know when to turn around...  I was not prepared for the rest.  We diverted to Tulsa Oklahoma.  We landed safely (Thank you Lord).  I should also mention that I'm not a fan of flying.  Because I live so far from family and friends, I have to fly if I want to see them.  I have learned to live with it.  I don't hate it anymore and I give God the glory on that one.  I know that when I am in the clouds, air, WHEREVER!, that he is keeping me safe.  I Trust HIM!  Anywho, we landed in Tulsa to wait for the storm to pass before heading back to our original destination.  We were on the ground for about 20 minutes before Top Flight Security, Airport Security pull up in their trucks with their lights shining inquiring about emergency landing.  They really expected the pilot to open the plane's door.  Our stewardist, Bryan, was wonderful.  He was full of jokes and tried to take care of us.  There was a man who was a row over from me who was HORRIBLE.  He kept complaining about wanting to drink (Bryan could not give him an alcoholic beverage because we were on the ground- Apparently airlines only have licenses to serve liquor when in the air!)  The rude man also kept playing his loud ring tones that were very inappropriate.  I called Sannie as soon as we landed in Tulsa and told her about what had happened.  She was so glad that I was Safe.  She waited for me at the airport for 3 hours!  That's love!  We finally got refueled and landed safely at our intended destination at 1:45AM.  I should have been there at 10:45PM.  The flight should have only lasted for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Hope that you are haivng a GREAT day.... more from me later

Where my Heart Belongs

I have been told by a couple of people that I should be doing better about updating this blog of mine.  I apologize every time that I do get the chance to blog.  I promise you that if I had the time to blog more I would be the J-O-B is keeping me busy and tired....  Bare with me please.  Graduation is on May 14 and maybe then I will have a little more free time....

I might have mentioned a month or so ago that I had a surprise for you... It was more like a surprise for myself.  A couple of people had been harassing me about attending Black Alumni Weekend at my Alma Mater.  I had no intention of going.  There were people that I did not want to see and felt like it was too much money to spend on just a weekend trip (because it is so expensive to fly down to the south).  My friend Sannie called and inquired if I was coming and I told her no.... she called back and few days later and "ASKED" me to attend.  That was all it took....  I made it happen

So I flew into town on Friday morning (morning being 1:45AM).  I assure you my flight story is a blog post by itself.

I had a GREAT time seeing my friends- Let me be specific.  My real friends... My girls, the friends that I chose to be friends because we love each other and aren't forced to be friends because its convenient. I think that it may have been the best money that I Have spent in a while (other than the money for my memory foam).

That is all for today.  I will try my hardest to blog again this week... Keep your fingers crossed

Winning, Venting and Close to the Edge

I assure you that Friday cannot get here fast enough.  I am not wishing my life away but I really need a break.  My nerves are shot and my patience has been tested all week long (by kids, a friend, coworkers, everyone).

Last Friday, I was Winning!  Everything was going my way.  Bought some items on sale, had a fabulous lunch with 2 wonderful ladies, got to spend some time holding babies and even went to the mall...I even snuck in a visit to get my toes done!

I worked the Powwow this weekend.  I love the powwow.  It is probably the event that I look forward to the most.  I love the beat of the drums, the beautiful regalia and wonderful fry bread.  But when I say that I worked that event... I mean it.  And because this is busy season there is no way to take a day or two off and regroup.

I Must have "Please come and mess with me!" written on my forehead because certain people are wanting to test me this week.  I have had a student try me twice.  And then one of my friends wanted to add a snippy comment.  I am sure that she wasn't trying to be rude.  I try to realize that everyone is not the same and to love everyone but good grief.

I am close to the edge... the edge of a small melt down.   I am glad to see signs of Spring... a few sunny days, bright colors and pretty flowers.

So there you have it... An update on what's going on.  I apologize for the lack of positivity...

KMM had her little prince almost 2 weeks ago!  And is enjoying motherhood!

Also, please pray for my Grandma (not my Grammy- though you can pray for her too!)  She has been in the hospital.

Love
